OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED

Since March 2010, the date of release for public and free consultation, the database has been progressively fed and updated in "multiple consolidation" with the entire body of legislation of the Republican era, published from 1946 to the present day, and with the body of legislation of the monarchical era, published from 1861 to 1945.

At the same time, several functional improvements have been made to the consultation system that, over time, have made it easier to use and more accessible than the first version released.

Below is a list of the most significant improvements:

URN

URN syntax for activation of links to 'Normattiva' acts has been optimised in order to allow the selection of the way the act is displayed (original version, version in "multiple consolidation" or version applicable on a date); in order to facilitate correct composition of the link, the "permalink" (permanent link) button was set up, which can be activated when viewing an act (go to the information page);

annex articulation

"articulated" annexes (i.e. divided by article), originally proposed as a single entity, can be consulted by selecting the individual articles;

"Export" button

selecting this feature allows you to rebuild and download an act, partially or completely, in "html" or "xml-NIR" format (compliant with the Circular AIPA of 22 April 2002 n. AIPA/CR40);

"Updates to title" and "Updates to structure" buttons

the "applicability" and "multiple consolidation" have also been applied to the title and to the structure of the act; in many cases, in fact, the title of the act and the so-called "intermediate titling" can be updated (both at the heading level and the structuring of the articles that compose it);

Links

links to the main regulatory resources available online have been added to the "home page" of "Normattiva": the websites of the Senate and the Chamber, that of the Official Gazette and the websites of the legislative databases of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces;

"Article headings" button

selecting this function allows you to view the list of titles of the individual articles, if present in the text of the act;

"Preparatory work"

in the case of laws and constitutional laws, the text of the "Preparatory work" is integrated with the approval procedure of the act, displayed with reference, via a link, to parliamentary acts;

"non-legislative" acts that have amended "legislative" acts

the update of "numbered" legislative acts also takes account of all amendments made over time by "unnumbered" acts which, although not numbered, are in fact "legislative" acts;

"Related Acts" button

selecting this function allows you to view any acts related to the act displayed (Circulars, Legislative Decrees, Enabling laws, Implementing regulations pursuant to art. 17 L. 400/1988);

Search

the system has been improved with the introduction of an advanced search engine that allows you to search in natural language.

During 2020 it has been possible to converge the databases of regional/provincial laws in the "Normattiva" portal, implementing the "Regional Federated Engine", a single point of access to the entire heritage of regional legislation, updated daily with the latest regulations enacted by the individual regions/Autonomous Provinces participating in the initiative.
