when accessing the validator using a screen reader (JAWS for Windows), the entire form, including the "hidden" "More Options" are included in JAWS' List of Form Controls, and are still in the tab-navigation order of the form (one has to tab through all of the "Advanced" options in order to reach the submit button. also, this form which i am currently filling out http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/enter_bug.cgi?product=Validator needs to have the labels for the form controls explicitly bound to the form controls, using the for/id relationship defined for the LABEL element; without such an explicit binding, it is difficult to tell with accuracy what the purpose of the form control one has tabbed to consult: http://www.w3.org/WAI/Resources
(In reply to comment #0) > when accessing the validator using a screen reader (JAWS for Windows), the > entire form, including the "hidden" "More Options" are included in JAWS' List > of Form Controls, I am unsure what the issue is here. I would expect that being able to access all the form controls (which are properly labeled) would be a feature, not a bug. > and are still in the tab-navigation order of the form (one > has to tab through all of the "Advanced" options in order to reach the submit > button. Understood. Would you have a suggestion to make for a better behavior, or a patch for: http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/validator/ ? > also, this form which i am currently filling out > http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/enter_bug.cgi?product=Validator > needs to have the labels for the form controls explicitly bound to the form > controls, using the for/id relationship defined for the LABEL element; without > such an explicit binding, it is difficult to tell with accuracy what the > purpose of the form control one has tabbed to We are planning to upgrade our instance of bugzilla to the latest release, hopefully form labeling will be better. I see there is also current work on improving the forms in bugzilla, so there is hope: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374020 In any case, issues with bugzilla are better reported to bugzilla development team rather than here.
